Born and raised in New Jersey, Patti spent much of her adult
life in central Pennsylvania, and arrived in rural Florida during late summer
2005. She finds the Cedar Key area very inspirational with its natural beauty
and abundant wildlife.
Patti has taken classes in wheel throwing and hand built pottery. In
recent years she met up with Eileen Keefer at Bucknell University in
Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Eileen's classes brought out her playful spirit,
balanced it with lessons in technique, and sent Patti on her way with clay.
Encouragement from sons, Jake and Abe, and husband, Jack, have helped Patti
pursue her art.
All of her clay work is hand made, from a lump of clay to the final
details and markings. Patti puts a little bit of herself into each piece she
creates. You may sense a bit of silliness in her clay critters, the beauty of
nature in the earthy tones of a bowl or vase, and always a love for life. She
feels that when we share what has been placed in our hearts, great things can
happen.
