Information for New Members and Consignees

Once you have been approved for membership, you must complete six days of training on how to operate the store. This training period will be completed during the first three months of membership, two days per month. You will need to arrange your training days with the Membership Chairperson. Your items will be offered for sale after you have completed two of the six days of training. There is a six-month probationary period before an applicant can be eligible for full membership and issued one share of stock.

If you have joined as a full-time member, you will be charged 25% commission during your three-month training period. This will drop to 20% for the following three months of probation. The commission will be 15% after you have successfully completed the training/probationary period. You are expected to work the required days per month, which changes based on the number of members. You must attend all of the monthly meetings during your training period, which are held on the second Wednesday of every month at the Cedar Keyhole starting at 9:30 a.m. Only three meetings a year may be missed. Checks for any items sold during the previous month will be distributed at the meeting.

If you have joined as a part-time member, agreeing to work one day per month, you will be charged 30% commission for the first three months. This will drop to 25% after you have completed the training period. If you agreed to work 2 days per month the commission charged will be 25% for the first three months and then drop to 20%. You are required to attend all monthly meetings during the three month training period and are welcomed to attend any meeting thereafter, but you are not required to do so. Checks for any items sold during the pervious month will be mailed to you after the second Wednesday of the month.

If you have joined as a consignee, you will be charged 30% commission. We do have a $20 per month minimum commission fee.  If you do not sell enough items to meet this minimum, you must pay the difference by the end of the month in which you are notified that you have not met the minimum requirement. Failure to do so will result in the removal of your items that are offered for sale.

There is a $10 per year membership fee for all types of membership and consignment.

Full- and part-time members will be given a copy of the Standing Rules and Operating Procedures. You must sign the attached form and return it to the Membership Chairperson. A copy of our by-laws is available at the desk.

If you have any questions, please ask. There is a list of members and their phone numbers in front of the daily ledger and e-mail addresses on the website, any of whom can answer most questions or direct you to someone who can.

The Cedar Keyhole carries NO insurance on artist's works. All items placed in the Keyhole are at the artist's own risk.
